YEAR ONE

The first year of my studies, I was introduced to the very basics of what makes up a film, television programme, or theatre production. Whilst I knew most of the basics due to my time at Uckfield College studying Film Studies, it gave me a greater insight into the reasoning behind popular filmmakers today. From Waiting for Godot to Rear Window, my first year in Reading built the foundations to which I could develop my critical understanding of visual literature to a more academic stature. My modules of study are as follows:

- Analysing Theatre and Performance
- Approaches to Film
- Approaches to Television
- Comedy on Stage and Screen
- Introduction to Filmmaking
- TV Studio Production

YEAR TWO

My second year at the University of Reading offered a wider range of modules I can use to develop my academic knowledge of film and television simultaneously, and the following modules helped to enhance further my practical filmmaking skills to be used for real-life productions.

- Film Forms and Cultures
- Screen Storytelling and Criticism
- Television and Contemporary Culture
- Placement and Employment Skills
- Creative Screen Practice

YEAR THREE

My last year at the University was certainly the most challenging, and whilst I chose a wide range of modules, they each offered an exceptional level of knowledge that I could use after my studies had finished.

- Cinema, Spectacle and Technology
- Identity, Agency, Advocacy, Diversity and Representation in Film, Theatre, and Television
- Scriptwriting for Stage and Screen
- Television: Exploring Fictional Worlds
- Advanced Filmmaking Project
